Eye Exams

Dr. Palomino takes even routine eye exams very seriously. Our patients receive a health history review, vision acuity and eye tests, eye focusing and movement assessments, and complete evaluation of eye health. Our optometrist in San Antonio also recommends any extra testing needed to diagnose eye diseases such as glaucoma or macular degeneration. To catch eye diseases early, we recommend annual eye exams for most patients.

Glasses Frames Selection

eyeglassesOnce Dr. Palomino writes out your prescription, you can put it to good use right away by making your eyeglasses selection right here in our San Antonio office. Let your personality and style shine through by choosing one of the designer frames we carry from Costa del Mar, Tommy Bahamas, Ray Ban and more.

Need help selecting glasses that match your coloring and face shape? Our friendly, professional staff can offer suggestions upon request as you try on eyeglasses in our office. We also offer tips about what style of frames work best for your lifestyle.

Contact Lens Exams

Don’t think eyeglasses are the best choice? Ask Dr. Palomino about contact lenses. Advances in the field of optometry have produced a variety of contacts, including daily-wear soft, extended-wear, rigid gas-permeable (RGP), extended-wear disposable and Ortho-K contacts. Special contact lenses are also available for patients with astigmatism, keratoconus and other conditions that traditionally make wearing contacts difficult.

If you’re unsure what type of contacts are best for you, our optometrist in San Antonio will discuss your options and help you decide.

Pre- and Post-Op LASIK Care

Laser assisted in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) is a vision correction surgery that treats refractive conditions including myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism. In most cases, LASIK surgery eliminates the need to wear eyeglasses or contact lenses.

At The Vision Place, Dr. Palomino provides pre- and post-operative exams for LASIK and other eye procedures. Dr. Palomino will first determines whether you’re a candidate for LASIK. Then she refers you to a LASIK specialist in San Antonio to perform the procedure. Following the surgery, plan to return to The Vision Place for the next six to 12 months for regular post-op care. If you ever have questions about your vision along the way, feel free to contact us.
